I find it hard to resist a colourful suit, especially when it’s an absolute bargain! I’d had my eye on this Asos Design red check trouser suit ever since I bought the green version in the autumn. I watched as the price came down little by little until I had to pull the trigger. Together, the blazer and trousers came in at just over £30, and the quality is fantastic. The fabric has a good weight to it and doesn’t crease easily. I’m surprised it hasn’t sold out by now.
I wanted a tonal look so I teamed the suit with a red blouse and bag. White or pink would be good options too but I think the red frill blouse really makes an impact. I could have chosen red ankle boots but I went with my chunky Converse for a more casual look. These are the Run Star Hike and they are so comfortable! The thicker sole is better for my feet than the flat Converse…I feel super bouncy when I’m wearing them!
Well, I’ve still got this horrible hacking cough and now a cold as well! Everyone else in the house is coughing and sneezing too – it’s been a full on germfest so far this year. I’ve heard/read a lot about the so-called “100 day cough”, so maybe that’s what I have. Isobel has had a cough since before Christmas!
At least the weather has been decent these last few days, so I’ve been able to potter in the garden and get some fresh air. I’ve planted some lettuces, tomatoes and rocket in tubs. I’m hoping to grow carrots, broccoli and Brussels Sprout this year too. Some organic veg is probably what I need right now!

Fabulous! I think I will visit the Asos site in a minute. I never liked red that much, but….I bought a red skirt and jumper on Vinted! A lot of people here are having a bad caugh too. I hope the weather will do you good! And Brussel sprouts, totally a good idea, love them!
Showing how tonal can be sensational! Not surprised you wanted this suit in another colour. Looks amazing! xx

What a great suit & a bargain. We are all at various stages of coughs and sneezes too – this seems to have been the longest winter.

Emma, love your red and white plaid suit, and also the way you played it up with more red in your accessories-fantastic! I am a big fan of the color red and it is so on trend for spring. Your pink with red roses sneakers are adorable too. Hope you and your family feel better soon. My husband has had “the cough” for months now, and I just got over the flu, so it has been a really bad winter for all the germs! Hope you have a good week and thanks for sharing and the link up!
Oh, I just love, love, love this outfit, Emma! It’s so cheery and makes me smile! The red accessories make it even better. Thanks so much for the link up. I hope you’ll join us for the Weekend Traffic Jam late Thursday night or Friday.
