I love the drama of statement sleeves and dark florals at this time year, so pairing this sheer puff sleeve top and floral print skirt was an obvious choice. The skirt is an old one (previously seen here), while the top is a more recent addition to my wardrobe. I ordered it along with the blush pink sundress from Oeyes (as well as a brown shoulder bag, which I’ll feature in a future post).
Ordering online is always a bit of a gamble, especially when it’s a brand you haven’t ordered from before. Often the sizing varies from item to item, so you have to check the measurement guide rigorously. For reference I’m wearing a medium. The fit is not perfect – it does gape a little between the buttons. I will probably add stitches to prevent this as it’s easy enough to slip on over my head. The other downside is that the mesh sleeves are quite itchy, but I’m hoping a good soak in fabric softener will remedy this.
I stuck to a red and black colour palette for maximum impact, adding a red clutch and matching jewellery. This clutch is actually a multiway bag from Zara and can also be used as a crossbody and belt bag. It proved to be so useful that I bought it black too!

Oh what a fabulous blouse! I love it! And the skirt is fantastic too!
Thanks so much Nancy!
Emma, I adore this outfit! And that top is so amazing. I hope you can fix it so you can wear it more comfortably. It is very reminiscent of a top I wanted in high school…it was a top that only existed in my head as I could find nothing like it anywhere and I wanted my mom to make it for me. But I wanted a black pinstripe double breasted blazer style top with sheer sleeves just like these. I could probably find something now but 30 years ago…nope. Didn’t exist! Great outfit, head to toe! And my fave color combination.

You look like an angel in your puff sleeve top, dear Emma! Okay, may be a little bit like a “dark angel” 😉 – but I love the mix of black and red 🙂

The sleeves on that top are so much fun! I love that they are sheer, but the puff on them makes them even better!

A dramatic look Emma, perfect for autumn and winter evenings out!
I’ve been seeing similar tops all over the shops at the moment, and, although I think it looks fabulous on you, I don’t think I’ll be experimenting. I just find the shoulders too bold! Probbaly because I already have quite broad shoulders!
