Since I bought my first Sister Jane blouse earlier this year I’ve been regularly looking on eBay for any others that take my fancy. I bought a second one on Vinted, a few months later so made a mental note to check on there regularly too. You can “favourite” items, a bit like adding them to your watch list on eBay, except it’s not an auction. It seems that sellers expect – and welcome – offers. Likewise, they will often send offers to people who’ve “favourited” that item. I’ve scored quite a few bargains on eBay that way too, so it’s always worth “favouriting” something you like or adding it to your watch list. If you feel cheeky making a lower offer, sometimes you just need to wait and it will come to you instead!
Anyway, that’s what happened with this Sister Jane geometric print blouse. I found it on Vinted, hit the heart icon and a few hours later I received an offer. Well, it would have been rude not to accept! It was the flowers on the collar and pearl embellished tie that really hooked me. I love the mix of yellow, black, grey and brown in the print. The shirred hem and cuffs are really nice details too.
When I bought it I hadn’t really thought about what I’d wear with it. I often hear stylists say that you should envisage any new purchase being worn at least three ways. However, I’m more of an impulse buyer; if I like it I buy it and worry about the finer details later! Luckily, I didn’t have to think too hard about this combination because these yellow trousers were on the top of a pile of clothes I’d been meaning to pack away until the summer. But there’s no reason why I can’t wear yellow trousers in winter – in fact I think the dull, misty weather calls for colourful clothes to brighten up the day.
I didn’t want to wear dark coloured boots because they would have looked too heavy. When in doubt opt for metallics, they go with everything. As luck would have it, I bought these gold boots in a local boutique recently. They match my crossbody bag that I bought in Madeira perfectly. I left the black and white bag strap on as the bees compliment the yellows in the outfit. So that’s one easy way to wear this Sister Jane geometric print blouse. I think it would also look great with high waisted, wide leg jeans, as well as black, grey or brown trousers. That’s four more outfit options already!

I’m just like you, Emma – a total impulse buyer and proud of it too lol! Your blouse is gorgeous on you, and I agree that bright colours should be worn in the winter!
Big hugs

Thanks so much Suzy! xx
What a beautiful outfit and what a great find, such a gorgeous blouse. Love how you have styled it and you suit that hat. I’ve just bought a skirt on “Vinted”which I had seen on one of the girls on Instagram and loved. I tried to barter, but bought anyway as it was so cheap! (£15.00) with postage……fingers crossed it fits! xx
Thank you Alison! I hope you love your skirt!
First off, thank you for the lovely surprise of being featured! It made my day!
Next, I love this outfit! I love the retro look in the blouse, and sunshine yellow slacks. Like you, I need bright colors in the short, often gloomy days of winter. And yet, I’ve struggled to find winter clothing that is bright. Ha! I’m right there with you in being an impulse buyer. There are times I try to shop with some measure of forethought and control, but it just doesn’t seem work that way for me.

Thank you Michelle! You’re very welcome. I’m glad I’m not the only one who buys on impulse – I just can’t help myself!
That is such a pretty pattern. I really love the entire nod to bold colour. It’s very pretty and makes for a fun and unique outfit.

Thanks so much Heather!
I am a fellow impulse buyer, I have the best of intentions to be practical . The cautious rule of picturing 3 ways to wear a new item goes right out the window if I really love something. You look fantastic in this cheerful outfit! I am a big fan of geometric prints, and your blouse has such special details. Also, thanks for sharing your online shopping tips. Have a good week!
Thanks very much Di! Hope you’re having a great week!
Oh my goodness, Emma, it is an adorable blouse! I love yellow on you and what a fabulous combination with these fun yellow trousers. I am definitely an impulse buyer like you but I never have any trouble creating endless combinations with everything in my closet. So my purchases never require much thought. However, I am trying to change that as I have too much stuff already!
Shelbee
Thanks Shelbee! I have way too much stuff too but I can’t stop myself buying something if I really love it!

Hi Emms
Always great finds! I have been mostly shopping Poshmark lately and look forward to sharing my finds. I will have to look up Vinted. Is it just UK? Love the floral collar and the print of thid blouse, looks brilliant with the yellow pants!
I always love seeing your color combos.

Thanks Jess! Apparently Vinted is available in 16 countries, including the U.S. I think it’s only just starting to catch on here, they’ve started advertising on TV. I find it a bit cheaper than Depop.
I love this look! And the advice to imagine a new purchase worn at least 3 different ways is soo smart. I never thought about it, but I will try it next time!
