Green Organza Bow Blouse and Lilac Trousers + link up

Green Organza Bow Blouse and Lilac Trousers, Fabienne Chapot green hat, green Papaya trench coat

Some colour combinations just make me happy, and emerald green with lilac is one of them. You probably know by now that I’m a huge fan of Fabienne Chapot, and have several dresses (including the lobster print ruffle dress and peach print shirt dress) as well as this hat in both pink and blue. So when I saw it in green on sale for half price I added it to my basket immediately! I would have one in every single colour if I could!

I bought this pine green trench coat on eBay for Β£6 including postage – it’s the perfect topper for the green organza bow blouse and lilac trousers

While I was having a thing for emerald green, a fabulous organza bow blouse by Zara caught my eye on Instagram. However, a combination of dithering and a reluctance to feed the fast fashion machine meant it sold out before I realised I really wanted it. As luck would have it, I found an exact replica at AliExpress while I was looking for a pink maxi skirt for last month’s Style Not Age post. I must have been on a winning streak around that time because I bought this pine green trench coat on eBay for Β£6 including postage – it’s the perfect topper for the green organza bow blouse and lilac trousers.

It’s from the Papaya range at Matalan, but it’s really good quality for a budget label. I took a bit of a gamble buying it, but I’m so glad I did. It fits me perfectly and will be great for those cool early Autumn days.

I love quirky handbags – they make a great conversation starter!

I added some purple accents with my sunglasses and amethyst disc earrings. Although I have a lilac bag, I thought I needed to break up the colour blocking, so I chose this fun strawberry print bag. I bought it in the Skinny Dip sale (another one to add to my collection). I love quirky handbags – they make a great conversation starter! It has a beaded handle, which is a fun detail. Beaded bags have been a big trend this Summer, but this style probably has more longevity in terms of straddling the seasons. It has a shoulder strap so I can wear it a crossbody bag too.

The only shoes I can wear with these trousers are my high nude wedges. (I paired them together for the Style Not Age pastels theme in April). I’m about 5’8″ so not exactly short – why brands have to make trousers so long is a mystery! I need a good seamstress on speed dial. Or maybe I should just learn to use a sewing machine πŸ˜‰

That’s a super jacket Emma, I’ve not been into Matalan for ages, will be checking them out very soon for sure. This is a great combo although I’ve tried green and lilac before, but it wasn’t nearly as bold as this one. Thanks for sharing and hosting Emma. Mummabstylish

  22. Sarah says:

Hi Emma, I love your colour pairing! I don’t have a lot of green in my closet. Every now and then, I purposefully pick the green color of a top or dress but MOST of the time, I am a pink/white/black/red girl.
Those high nude wedges look like Christian Louboutin wedges!

  23. Amy Johnson says:

You look fabulous in this color!
