This last week has flown by! When I started to put this post together I realised I hadn’t even posted last week’s on Instagram. I seem to be constantly playing catch up with all things social media. It’s not as though I can blame being busy at work; I’ve had plenty of days at home, but lots of little things to do – mainly being a taxi service for Isobel. That’s all par for the course with a teenager I suppose!
I wore this outfit to work on Sunday, and as Pete was also working on the same programme I’d planned to shoot these photos at Salford Quays. However, despite bright sunshine and blue sky on the drive in, it quickly turned to grey sky and rain. So instead we had to dash out in between showers when we got home. It’s so difficult to get outfit photos at this time of year with not much daylight and frequent rain.
You may recall that I’ve featured Grenouille shirts before (I’ve linked to those posts further down). It’s now the ideal temperature for a smart shirt and jacket (one good thing about this time of year!) so I’m enjoying wearing them again.
I’ve teamed this charming navy flower print shirt with royal blue trousers and a navy jacket. I love the versatility of Grenouille shirts because they look fabulous with suits and tailored separates as well as jeans for a more casual look. The gold decorations and metallic yellow cuffs on the jacket steered me towards the gold trainers and crossbody bag. (I bought the bag in Madeira and switched the strap for this wide striped one). I love the contrast of the shades of blue with gold accents mixed in with the floral print shirt. When the weather gets colder I’ll wear a knitted vest over the shirt for an extra layer of warmth. I don’t think it will be long – my big camel coat had its first outing of the season earlier today!
