Well, that’s almost it for 2025…and what a year it’s been. This year has been one of the hardest for me, losing mum, Henry and another family member. And then ending the year with an operation. I don’t make New Year’s resolutions (too much pressure), but I’m quietly hoping for an easier year in 2026, no grand expectations, just less upheaval. Of course, there were many good times this year too. Isobel passed her GCSEs with flying colours and got into the college of her choice. We saw AC/DC in Edinburgh, Amyl and the Sniffers in Manchester, and I met up with some fabulous friends I’ve made through blogging and social media.
The connections and friendships I’ve made have been such a blessing, and I truly appreciate your support and kindness. To end the year, I thought it fitting to look back on some of my favourite outfits of 2025.

January is a dreary month at the best of times, so a colourful outfit is my way of making it more bearable. I love this check multi-coloured trench coat, it instantly brightens up any outfit.

I searched long and hard to find this faux fur coat after seeing it in the award-winning comedy Alma’s Not Normal. It also reminds people of a certan age of Bagpuss, the 1970s children’s programme.

I recently featured this gold sparkly cardigan with black velvet trousers. But back in March I went for gold, with barrel leg jeans and Tieks ballet flats. The lime blouse really stands out against it.

The Thrifty Six theme for April was Double Denim, and I loved how this outfit turned out. The waistcoat is vintage and makes a great layering piece to pull an outfit together. I’ve actually featured it again in September’s outfit.

May’s Style Not Age theme was Summer Whites. I very rarely wear white, but I remembered I had this dress from a previous collaboration some years ago, and to my surprise I really loved wearing it again. It just goes to show that sometimes it’s good to shake things up a bit.

This pink dress was one of the outfits in my Dress Yourself Happy post. I loved all of these looks, but this hot pink maxi dress just nudges it. I definitely feel happy in it!

July was a terrible month, but before I had to cut my holiday short there were some good times. This dress was a Vinted bargain that I couldn’t resist, despite having several other orange dresses. It brings back fun memories because the hotel security guards joined in the photos (you can see those in the original post).

This blue lace dress was one of the items I received as part of the Izabel affiliate network. All the dresses I have from Izabel fit perfectly. It would be one of my first choices if I had a wedding to go to.

In September I had the pleasure of meeting up with Anna (Anna’s Island Style). We had a fab afternoon in Salford Quays, chatting non stop. This was the outfit I wore, minus the hat and with trainers instead of loafers.

For half term we went back to Madeira. This was my favourite outfit on the whole trip. Shame I lost the hat though!

While on holiday, I visited my favourite shop where I bought this shirt. I love it with the Damson Madder waistcoat and matching red trainers.

It’s fitting that I’m wearing this sequin co-ord while I’m finishing off my last post of the year. It’s the perfect party outfit: sparkly, stretchy and in the colour of the season.
